I recently attended a vision conference to get the latest in eyecare information for our patients and to find out ways to provide better care.  It was suggested that I provide a forum for our patients to ask questions they may have.   I hope people will use this blog to ask me any questions they may have concerning their vision or eyewear.

I recently helped with a vision screening for some preschoolers. It brought home the importance of early visual development and the long term effects it has on a child's life.  The Lions Club is looking for us to help them provide these screenings for all of the local preschoolers. I can't think anything I could do in my life more important than helping the future development of our children and appreciate the work the Lions Club has made to have this happen in our community.

I was given the challenge of a new patient with a cylinder correction of -8.25.  They are in need of a bifocal prescription and want progressive or no-line bifocals.  In the past this patient would be unable to get a progressive bifocal with this type of prescription.  With new developments in lens technology this patient is now able to get progressive lenses.  Look into free form and digital surfacing for the latest in lens technology.

optical illusion for the day. When you look at this image up close it looks like Albert Einstein, but from a distance of 10 to 15 feet you should see a image of Marilyn Monroe.
I'm an optician located in New Hampshire and this is my first blog.  I will be posting my insights into the eyecare profession and offer my advice on optical matters.
